EID KITS DISTRIBUTION UNDER CHILD DEVELOPMENT
Eid special kits distribution was held at Srinagar for 93 families enrolled under Child Development. These kits were meticulously composed to ensure that the families celebrate the occasion joyfully without facing any shortage of supplies.
MULTI STAKEHOLDER MEETING UNDER QUALITY EDUCATION
CHINAR International hosted an engaging event in Sumbal Bandipora, with around 70 participants including key figures from education, NGOs, and community representatives. Valuable insights were shared on education transformation, emphasizing infrastructure improvement and other important topics. RAMADAN SPECIAL KITS DISTRIBUTED ACROSS PARVAAZ COMMUNITIES
CHINAR successfully distributed Ramadan kits to 242 families across three districts – Shopian, Baramulla, Srinagar and Kulgam. Each kit contained a variety of essentials including flour, egg tray, suji, vermicelli, Rooh Afza, dry fruits and other items, ensuring that families had what they needed for the holy month. The distribution process was documented and executed smoothly, with the beneficiaries expressing gratitude and joy as they received their kits gracefully.
EMPOWERING FAMILIES TOWARDS SELF-RELIANCE UNDER PARVAAZ
Sahil Ahmad Hajam, a young man from #Gatipora, #Shopian, lives in a dilapidated two-story house with his parents and siblings. His family was enrolled in the Parvaaz program during the scale survey of the year 2022, with his two siblings, receiving educational support. After reassessment, CHINAR International provided him support to start his own barber shop. He has been doing this barbering work since 2016, earning a meager income due to the lack of barbering equipment and proper infrastructure.
The goal of the program is to make families self-sufficient by providing them assistance to start their own business.
SMALL BUSINESS SUPPORT UNIT LAUNCHED AT BARAMULLA
Nadeem Ahmad Beigh, a young talented craftsman from Sopore resides with his parents and younger siblings in a modest house. He had to drop out of 8th class to support his family financially. To earn a stable income, he learned Tilla #Embroidery skill and within a short period mastered the skill and started a small Tilla Embroidery shop in Sopore. Nadeem wanted to convert his small shop into a Tilla Embroidery unit offering both products and services, but he couldn’t expand it due to financial constraints.
Nadeem was provided with all the necessary support and stock which includes a different variety of tilla threads and other related items to help him expand his unit which will help him attract a broader customer base and significantly increase his income.
HEALTH CAMP HELD IN PARVAAZ COMMUNITIES
CHINAR organised health camps across three districts – #Srinagar, #Shopian #Baramulla enrolled under Parvaaz, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officers of each respective district. The medical team consisted of a diverse group of professionals, including general physicians, an ophthalmologist, a dental surgeon, a pharmacist, and a counselor, who diligently conducted thorough examinations for over 300 beneficiaries. These camps also provided supplementary medicines and referrals for further medical intervention. This initiative reflects our commitment to addressing not only economic but also healthcare needs within these communities.
LEARNING CIRCLE MEET- EDUCATION FOR YOUTH
CHINAR organised a Learning circle meet for Education for youth candidates. The session mostly focused on mentorship, career guidance and aims/aspirations of candidates.
Humayun Kaiser, Former Director Radio Kashmir also joined the interaction and guided youth on choosing their career paths.
COMMUNITY MOBILISATION AT SHOPIAN
Community mobilization event at Mujpathri, Shopian brought together students, parents, teachers, and community members for working on collective effort towards enhancing educational opportunities and empowering our communities for social change.
