Teach With Chinar – Two Year Fellowship Program

Dotted Line Icon

The Teach with CHINAR fellowship is a two-year fellowship program with a mission to create a cadre of leaders who will not only teach but will also work toward school transformations and personal development.
The aim is to uplift low-resourced schools (government and/or private) through meaningful stakeholder engagements to provide quality education to children and improve the overall school ecosystem. The fellowship focuses on school system restructuring so that schools become process-driven child-friendly spaces. This shall be achieved by following CHINAR’s school transformation programs which include conducting a comprehensive 360-degree review of the school to identify gaps and opportunities for school improvement. The overall goal is to transform the school and make it self-sustainable after a period of 4 years. The fellows will also be required to teach the same grade for two consecutive years during the fellowship period. After graduating from the fellowship, the same grade shall be passed on to a new fellow who shall take it forward for another two years. During the course of the fellowship, CHINAR will support the fellows in their personal transformation journey along with providing them mentorship and capacity building to fulfill the requirements of the fellowship.

The Need

Dotted Line Icon

Orphans and vulnerable children that come from low-income families are the weakest link in the progress and development of a society. This is especially true in areas of protracted conflict. The only way for these children to escape the vicious circle of poverty is through access to quality education and a nurturing environment at home.

Our Response

Dotted Line Icon

Child development provides a nurturing environment to children from the most vulnerable communities to enable them to attain quality education. This program is for vulnerable children from families that have no or little means of livelihood and are struggling to fulfill their child’s needs. It addresses the holistic needs of such children without displacing them from their natural settings.

    Heartiest Congratulations to Zahid Bashir

The CHINAR team feels elated to witness the growth and success of Zahid Bashir, one of the first beneficiaries of CHINAR International. Zahid, an orphan, was enrolled under the Child Development Program in the year 2011. After the death of his father in 2009 the financial condition of his family deteriorated so much that they were not even able to meet their basic needs of food and shelter. However, CHINAR came to the aid of his family by providing Livelihood Support to his mother, Dilshada, in the form of a sheep unit so as to make her self reliant. While the sheep unit was in its starting phase, CHINAR took up all expenses of Zahids' education and ensured his holistic development. Once a stable source of income was established for his family, Zahid was able to focus on his education. His dedication and drive to do better in life made him score 401 in his Class 10th Examination. Now once again, Zahid has outshined everyone and secured an outstanding 455 marks in his 12th Class Examination. He has once again made his mother and CHINAR proud of his achievements. We wish him more success in his life ahead.SHOW MORE...SHOW LESS

FAQ’s

Dotted Line Icon
What is the beneficiary selection criteria?

We use well-defined selection criteria to identify potential beneficiaries for our Child Development program. The economic condition is one of the primary conditions for selecting the family. Secondary factors include whether the child is orphan, parental health, child labour, widows, no existing support from government or non-profit organization, etc. We conduct assessment surveys and consult with community heads, individual contacts and partner organizations to generate an initial list of deserving families. This is followed by a thorough verification process to shortlist the most deserving children and families for enrolment in the program. For more information, learn about our process and protocols HERE.

What is the program duration?

The program duration varies from beneficiary to beneficiary and eligibility for graduation from the program is evaluated on a regular basis. It depends on the age at which the child is enrolled in the program, how long it takes for the child’s guardian to reach self-reliance and the time it takes for the child to reach a logical conclusion i.e. to graduate from one of our programs and become self-reliant.
